About the PSZ Awards and Recognition Program
The PSZ Awards and Recognition Program is the profession’s most comprehensive recognition program. PSZ believes it is of utmost importance to support and recognise individuals who, through their vision and commitment to their profession, are making outstanding contributions to the fields of pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences. This awards program, we believe, can stimulate research, practice innovations, quality publications, and leadership development that will improve medication use and advance patient care.
PSZ’s DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD
The PSZ Distinguished Service Award is the premier award. This award recognizes a Pharmacist or a Pharmacy Technologist who has provided exemplary distinguished service and outstanding contribution to pharmacy practice in Zambia that has resulted in a significant improvement in the healthcare system, services or specific sector of pharmacy practice in the country and/or the population he/she serves.
PSZ’s PHARMACIST OF THE YEAR AWARD
The PSZ Pharmacist of the Year is an individual who has made significant, influential and sustained contributions to pharmacy practice in Zambia in the year 2020, including having a positive impact on pharmaceutical care.
PSZ’s PHARMACY TECHNOLOGIST OF THE YEAR AWARD
PSZ Pharmacy Technologist of the Year is an individual who has made significant, influential and sustained contribution to pharmacy practice in Zambia during the year 2020 and has had a positive impact on pharmaceutical care.
PSZ’s OUTSTANDING WOMAN LEADERSHIP MENTOR AWARD
This award recognizes a Female individual who has mentored, promoted and encouraged Pharmacists and/or Pharmacy Technologists to attain leadership positions within and beyond the pharmacy profession through exemplary role modelling and mentorship. This Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technologist should personally exemplify the award’s criteria by inspiring and mentoring future leaders throughout their pharmacy career.
PSZ’s YOUNG INNOVATION AWARD
This award recognizes a student or newly graduated pharmacist or pharmacy technologist who has demonstrated innovation that advances pharmacy practice. The award recognizes and celebrates the contributions of students and young professionals below the age of 35, who represent the very best attributes and accomplishments of student members and new graduates and have either demonstrated novelty, innovation, leadership ability (or leadership potential) of note to the profession of pharmacy.
